Auxilliary water pump + mounting bracket for Austin Seven or Ford side valve engine
Comes with a mounting bracket that - according to the person I've bought it from) will fit an Austin Seven engine. I have never had it fitted so there's no guarantee. More pictures available on request.
Markings: 493 AFS and F2. "AFS" probably indicating Auxiliary Ford Spares because there's also F2 for 'Fourd foundry'. 493 stands for the Ford Prefect Model E493A, which was produced from 1949 to 1953 and used Ford's iconic 1172cc side-valve ("flathead") engine
However it looks a lot like the water pumps produced by Aquaplane (Automotive Fluid Systems / Aquaplane Ford Specialists).
It's about 9 inches long and weighs in at somewhere between 2 and 3 kilo's (I haven't put it on a scale). One of the conduits / water connections had been damaged in transit. There's a detailed picture of that available (PWC portal prohibits upload of more pictues) . I think that a properly fitted and clamped down hose will be watertight but the chipped piece of cast metal is included so the buyer could either try to glue that in place or fill the gap with cast metal repair paste. I have never had it fitted. It is loose but may need some lubrification and internal cleaning. Not tested so no guarantees.
Reproduction Aquaplane waterpumps come in at € 325.00 these days so this is an opportunity to acquire such a pump at a more modest price level and including a sturdy mounting bracket . Private sale, no returns, no refunds. Price listed is excl. P&P. Consult vendor about additional costs. Any additional taxes and / or import duties will be buyer's to pay.
