An exceptionally rare survivor from the early days of French cycle racing, this 1905 Béguin "Photo Velo" comes directly from Chartres. During the early 1900s, regional bicycle businesses frequently doubled as sporting agencies or local photographic outfitters—a dual heritage beautifully preserved on the brass head badge.
Sympathetically restored, with the frame and forks finished in satin black.
The 700c wheels have original wired-on wooden rims and are fitted with brand-new Schwalbe 700 × 35 cream tyres. The wheels were rebuilt with hand-cut and rolled black-enamel spokes in our vintage bicycle shop during the 2026 Goodwood Revival. All of the plated components have a simple coat of shellac type varnish to age and preserve the finish. Quick release large wing-nuts to both the front and rear hubs and fixed wheel. Semi dropped handlebars with wooden handlebar grips. The bicycle is ready to ride or display in a favourite room, a workshop or a collection.
