1000 miles from Prague to Bratislava and back and back again...

This race has a history in our Czech Republic. It was just a short time, but it was so hard and it was really 1000 miles from Prague to Bratislava and back and to Prague and again from Prague to Bratislava and back. It was NONSTOP.

The races were held in 1933, 1934, and 1935. For these races, a few special cars were built in the car factories in the Czech Republic. The original Aero Coupé 750, which started in 1934, is now restored. And one other car that participated in the races, a Jawa 1000 mile Coupé I restored myself from the rest of the original car. This Jawa is currently in the NTM (National Technical Museum) in Prague. The car does not start but is exhibited with the three other cars that were made.

The organizer Miroslav Krejsa and the collective started preparing a revival of the 1000 miles from Prague to Bratislava race 10 years ago. And finally, the big day was there!

On Wednesday the 13th of June 2018 we started together with 95 other participants in the early morning at 06:00 (every minute one car) from Prague from Opletalova street, like in the thirties original race. We started on Thursday the 14th with very similar track like the original one, but only to Slovakia in Bratislava. A drive from more than 400 km. We slept in the hotel and on Friday we had the trip through Slovakia. It was more than 250 km and again an early morning on Saturday the 16th. We returned from Bratislava to the Czech Republic to Prague, not like the route on Thursday, but it was again more than 400 km. The finish was at the NTM in Prague where the ceremony took place with results.
