The vehicle was built by Iron Age Garage between 2008 and 2010 based on a 1929 Ford Model A. Ford never produced racing cars of this type, but they were converted by racing drivers or dealers in the 1920s and 1930s and used in motor racing. Among others, Juan Manuel Fangio began his career in a racer of this kind. A racing car in Argentina, the ‘La Mimosa’, served as the model for this racer. The car was handcrafted to the highest standards of craftsmanship based on this model. The high quality, including the attention to detail, is one of the reasons for its harmonious and sophisticated appearance. With the accompanying FIA passport, it is possible to take part in historic races.

The racing car offers pure driving pleasure. Thanks to its kerb weight of 710 kg, the car is quick off the mark. Speeds of up to 100 km/h are easily achievable, though it feels as though you’re driving at 180!!! The 3.2-litre four-cylinder engine was completely overhauled during the build, including improved crankshaft mounting, and delivers around 50 PS. With a few minor compromises, the racing car is suitable for everyday use. I wouldn’t take it to go and buy crates of fizzy drinks, though ;-). The engine is more than powerful enough to keep up with normal traffic on roads and country lanes. Three forward gears and overdrive ensure brisk acceleration!

It’s incredibly fun to drive; the sound, the driving experience and the spectacular appearance are what make this car so special. That’s how you maximise driving pleasure!

This very Ford racing car was featured in the specialist press in *Motor Klassik* 4/2012, *Auto* 10/2012, *Motor Maniacs* 6/2010 and *Motorvision* 1/2013.  There was also a feature in Playboy 9/2011 and an article in the wonderful book “Traumgaragen 2.0”
