1925 Lanchester 40hp with spectacular Skiff bodywork.

This unique Lanchester 6.2 litre, 6-cylinder car has teak & ash Skiff touring bodywork. Derived from George Lanchester's design which "follows in the beautiful lines of a racing boat", it is indeed eye-catching and built to the highest standards. Its two hoods fold away into the bodywork so as not to impede the eye-lines of the sloping tail. Two rows of 2/3 leather seats are followed by a single seat in the rear cockpit, named as Sir David Jason's seat as he featured this Lanchester in his Channel 4 TV series entitled 'Great British Inventons'.

The engine has an overhead-camshaft, cross-flow cylinder head and dual ignition. The gearbox is the quick, easy and no 'crash' epicyclic type, which also gives 3 options of servo assistance on the 4-wheel brakes. Cantilever suspension supports the Lanchester worm drive rear axle.

This skiff won the coveted Lanchester Register Shield at the 2019 Lanchester touring rally as well as this summer's 4-day tour.
