1924 Lagonda 12/24 Tourer

One of Lagonda's most technically advanced light cars, the 12/24 (1923–1925) used an unusually sophisticated riveted semi-monocoque chassis/body construction, a method shared with the contemporary Lancia Lambda but almost unheard of among British light cars of its time. Power comes from a 1420cc four-cylinder engine. Only around 2,250 were built, and survivors are scarce today.

This Tourer, chassis 7713, engine number 9333, has a paper trail going back to the 1970s: UK registration documents from 1976 and 1984 accompany the car, together with an undated German Fahrzeugschein, tracing its route from Britain via Germany to Hungary. It was owned by a Hungarian collector before passing into our family's ownership in 1997, where it has remained for nearly three decades.

The car is finished in British Racing Green, repainted by our family after acquisition — not its original colour; it wore a tired brown finish when it arrived. Mechanically it remains in running order. It has seen little use in recent years but has been started once or twice a year and kept in heated, dry storage throughout — well preserved, though a mechanical check-over is advisable before returning it to regular road use.
