Again a picture of last Monday's Delage. This time it’s the complete picture (click for enlargement). The car next to the Delage of which Claes Rocklin from Sweden owns the remains is a 1911 Vivinus. Alexis Vivinus was the Belgian importer of Benz cars, but in 1899 started his own manufacturing company near Brussels, the “Atelier Vivinus”. In 1912 the Atelier went into liquidation and Alexis Vivinus joined Minerva. Like yesterday’s Delage the Vivinus pictured here also saw service as a taxi. Not much more is known about the car, except that it also ended its days as a horse wagon. About thirty years ago Claes met an old farmer and immediately recognized the brass hubcap with the Vivinus script on his horse wagon. The farmer told him that he had bought the wagon from a local blacksmith who had converted the car. Unfortunately the blacksmith’s workshop did not exist anymore and the smith had passed away years before. But the farmer was glad to give Claes the battered hubcap (click!) as a memory of the car.
