A Bungalow Barnfind

Harit from India mailed us these photos of a 1920s Packard. It’s not really a barnfind as the Packard had been laid up in a bungalow in Mumbai. She’s an open tourer, seven-seater with a straight eight engine. The Packard, which probably dates from 1924/1926, has been known to local collectors since 1985, but has never been for sale and nobody was allowed to see the car. Only recently the owner sold the Bungalow and the Packard went with the deal. It was pulled out of the bungalow garage and towed away. Fortunately a friend of Harit saw this happening and informed him of the Packard’s new whereabouts. A lot of work needs to be done, but a good many of the parts are still with the Packard. The engine is there, all wheels are there, and so are the headlights which were removed. But it still will be a formidable project! (photos Harit)
