A car for true romance: a 1912 Renault CE

You must have seen the Titanic movie, and can probably remember the famous shot in the Renault CE. Was that the first thing you thought about when you saw these pictures?

The Renault CE was one of the makes most impressive cars. With its 5-litre, 4 cylinder and impressive Landaulette body it is certainly something that caught the interest of wealthy people back in the day.

We were pleasantly surprised when we received these pictures of a newlywed couple in the 1912 Renault. Not only because they are beautiful but also because of the beautiful colours, as most of the wedding pictures we receive with a PreWarCar are in black and white.

Do you have (coloured) wedding pictures of friends or family members who got married in a PreWarCar? Please share them with us by putting them in a comment below or sending them to [email protected]. We would love to see them and hear the anecdotes!

In our collection we have a limousine Renault CE with chassis number 2934, engine n° 4051. The "landaulet" coachwork is from Rothschild (Reims). The car is still in the condition when my father found it from the last owner, who pretended tah when new, the limousine was used by the king of Spain (Alphonso XIII) for his private trips in France. This has never been confirmed. Sorry I didn't have a coloured picture under hands. Grz, Ivan
