Last Monday in Fairbanks, Alaska a new bridge crossing the Chena River was opened. Four prewar cars were the first to cross the new causeway. The first was a 1910 Chalmers-Detroit. It is a Fairbanks car and belongs to it's longtime custodians, the Creamer family. You can see the red ribbon directly behind the car. The second in line is a 1916 Dodge touring originally used to transport passengers between Fairbanks, Alaska and Valdez...even in the winter! This car has not run since 1926 and was recently sympathetically recommisioned. It now belongs to the Cameron brothers. Another car shown is the 1932 V-16 Cadillac belonging to the Fountainhead Antique Auto museum here in Fairbanks. A car not pictured (at this occasion) was the Gibson Stage Lines' Model-T Ford now being cared for by the Chace family of North Pole.
