Ian Murray took these photos years ago and he was asking for an opinion. Well in our humble opinion the photo itself is even more beautiful than the chassis itself. It's almost like looking at a 17th century oil painting (check main photo for comparison). Yet when you live in Scotland you probably get used to this kind of eternal scenery. Sorry, but we were taken away for a moment.
Getting back to Ian: "When I first spotted it at a distance my heart jumped as I thought it was a prewar RR Ghost, but I'm sure it's not. Might it be a Napier? (click HERE for another perspective). I wonder if the subscribers to PreWarCar.com might like to have a go at identifying this large mystery Edwardian chassis? As for the chassis. It was 25 years ago when I took those photographs and I last saw it earlier this year. It hadn't deteriorated any and looks exactly the same. Unfortunately there aren't any markings or a name on the wheel hub nut and no serial numbers on the rear axle. However I did measure it and it has a 136 inch wheel base. That's almost (within 1/2") the same length of a prewar Ghost chassis. But what is it? "
