What is it? Quiz #396

It's a French cyclecar powered with a 6CV Ruby DS, yet who can add anything to that? We decided to do something different this time. The information is above, now you give us the photo! Well that probably may be impossible as very little is known about the French one-off of which only the 'brass literature' above remains. Still we're convinced that one or two people out there know all about this car. We also learned only yesterday that in a distant past the car was known in British VSCC circles.  Let's see who comes up with the full history of the car.

Please give us any relevant information you may have on this particular car. Whatever you can come up with, that is to say within 100 words. Please post your answer in the comment box below (please do not email) and be sure to read The Rules under Read More. This may be your chance to win the infamous PreWarCar T-shirt and wear with pride at this season’s events! Results will be published next Saturday, June 13.

A photo of the Ruby engine No DS 2908 can be found on the 1924 Senechal TS2 auction information page

I can only assume this engine was found and sustituted into the Senechal during its first refurbishment

What is it Quiz #396

The JG (J Goupy) Sport was a French cyclecar, manufactured from 1922 until 1923. Founded by M. Janvier in 1922 in Paris The brand name used was JG JS or Sport. but in 1923/24 production ended.
3 vehicles only were made.
Drive was provided by a Ruby four-cylinder ohv engine, ("AS" block), with a 57 mm bore 95 stroke giving a 972 cc displacement.
Chain drive, with a 6 speed gearbox.
The Ruby engines were built by H. Godefroy et Lévêque, located in Levallois-Perret, who began building automobiles in 1909 and ended by 1922, but continued to sell proprietary engines to light car manufacturers.

The Engine No. (DS 2908) tag conflicts with an engine No. quoted for a 1924 Senechal TS2 cyclecar, which used similar Ruby engines (is this a substitution on the Seneschal ?) see the following link :
