A warm welcome to Scripps-Booth.

We are always glad to encounter a make we've never heard of before. Today it's Scripps-Booth, produced from 1914 thru 1922. Yes, that sounds American and it is. In 1916 the make was swallowed by the GM moloch. And that remains so to this day. Scripps-Booth together with the makes Whiting and Monroe are part of the Pre 1925 Chevrolet Web Site. The barnfind shown here is a 1919 Model Six-39 Tourer (click photo to see the front) that has covered only 8,000 miles since new, according to the auction catalogue of Cheffins (GB) where the car will be auctioned Saturday 6 April. Also you will find there no less than four lovely Singer cars.

I used to own this car - stored it for many years in my father's barn! Found it in Bucks County, Pennsylvania sitting outside with half ripped tarps on it behind some guy's home. The prior owner says he pulled it from a barn in New Jersey with no title. Sold it to me for $250.00. Some metal fab shop contractor in Lansdale, PA was given the hood to restore, but claims he "lost" it when it was time to pick it up - police got involved and big insurance claim. Ended up selling this car at Martin's Auctioneers Carriage Auction in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania to some guy that was supposedly going to ship it overseas...hopefully, it found a good home.
