Michael Ware reports: "An unrestored car in a motor museum is usually in complete contrast to all the other gleaming cars around it. One such car is the 1925 12/4 Argyll which is on show at the Motoring Heritage Centre, Scotland. The museum is part of a complex behind the magnificent façade of the old Argyll factory. All Argylls by 1925 were built to order, even though this made them expensive for what they were. An ex-Scot in Canada ordered this car but then cancelled. Later it was sold to a Dr. Hamilton who lived near Glasgow. After he had used it for some years he gave it to his son who ran it until the outbreak of war and it was laid up in a shed in the garden. Over 50 years later the shed started to collapse and an enthusiast spotted the car, rescued it and has now donated it to the museum. It is displayed in the museum as found and the museum hopes to restore it to running order but then to just conserve the bodywork and use it in 'barn find' looking condition."
