Some cars stay all their live in one local area, others travel the world. This Lagonda LG45 tourer is an example of the latter. Built in 1936 she started her travels slowly, from Leicestershire to London in 1938 and on to Essex in 1947. But then her owner took her overseas to Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) in Africa. By 1964 the Lagonda became a little tired, but she was restored to her former glory by a General Post Office engineer on a tour of duty. Together they went on many trips and several times successfully completed the Shell Copperbelt Reliability Rally. In 1972 it was time for the Lagonda to be shipped back to England, but not without a lengthy detour to Venezuela. After these travels the Lagonda was not destined for a sheltered life, oh no. Her new owner took her to countless rallies and tours including the Lagonda Club's fiftieth and sixtieth anniversary runs to Le Mans. Perhaps these travels were good for the Lagonda, because she still looks a stunning motorcar. She will be auctioned by H&H during their auction on June 20. Check inventory!
