Another cyclecar chassis of unknown origin

What is this?

Another cyclecar chassis of unknown origin. I bought it in Sweden 15 years ago but no one can identify it. I know that the rear axle and wheels are Salmson. SMS on the axel. Front wheels are old Salmson wheels and rear wheels new made Salmson wheels, made in England. The rear axle is the first Salmson type 1920 -21, without differential gears. Clutch and gearbox are marked "Eclipse". The wheelbase is 200 cm, the track is 97 cm.

But it is not a Salmson and not home built. The only homebuilt details are the fittings for the gearbox, all other parts must be made in an industrial workshop.

Anyone who knows what it can be? Can anyone help?

Regards Stig Larsson
Sweden.

I am wondering if the chassis may be an early pre-production Temperino cyclecar. If it is such a chassis, I would be interested in the bare chassis frame.

Stig, I do not know who made this chassis but would love to buy the Salmson axles if you decide to change it!

Hi Stig, For what it's worth, Eclipse made clutches for several American motorcycles in the 'teens, Indian, Flying Merkel, Excelsior. Whether they made a cyclecar I don't know, but it's possible. Regards TG
