Another Lady Driver Drophead Mystery.

Very similar to the recent 'Polka dot Mystery' which appeared to be a Hanomag Rekord. Still this drophead is not quite the same. And not only due to the striped dress of the charming driver. This time we see a RHD car with different rearwings, hubcaps and more. Maybe the umbrella style gearstick is another give away. We leave it to you. Ah, this may be a help, we nearly forgot to add the second view on driver and car. We're looking forward to read your opinion.

Would have to agree with all the comments. Michael, I looked up your website, what fascinating photos. Seeing the photo of the early F2 brings back a fond memory from my youth. In 1960 at the age of fourteen I went with my father to a caryard in Oakleigh, a suburb here in Melbourne. In there was an early DKW with a two seater coupe body, most probably Australian built. Dad said to me, when you are old enough you should buy something like that, but I never did.
Whenever I think of it I can still imagine the smell of the two stroke fuel that it had.

I agree with Sven and Anders - the car on the second photo is definitively not identical with the first one.

Most likely the second picture shows a DKW F4 or F5 "Cabrio-Limousine" with the chrome trim following precisely the sloping rear part of the car - a distinct feature of the 2-stroke DKWs in the mid- and late 1930s.

Please refer to my online gallery showing all prewar models built by DKW:

I also doubt that the cabriolet on the first picture is right-hand driven. The lady seems to be leaning towards the left, in order to get her left hand at the steering wheel.

The same girl but probably not the same car. The seccond picture a small DKW F5 or later development from the mid 30-ties with non folding roof beams over the doors. The first picture a much larger fully collapsable cabriolet.
