Bad start, happy end Buick

Two Spanish afficionados found the old photos of a damaged 1928 Buick in the archives of a naval company called Navantia. The car seemed to be new in those days.
Not too much later they found a 1928 Buick four door sedan (looks like a model 51 Brougham, or?) and bought it together with a friend. After speaking with the former owners and after some research into the history of the car, they discovered that this was the very same damaged car of the old photos!! The car came to Spain in June 1928, and soon was bought by the principal of a military shipyard company. Only two months later the car was in an accident (27th August 1928) which was documented by the shipyard company. Anyway the car was repaired and used by its original owner till 1935, when the car was sold to a second hand car dealer.  Here appeared the third owner, a solicitor from Madrid. His car broke down very near to where the second hand dealer was established, and he decided to buy the Buick to resume his journey. In 1936 the Spanish Civil War started and the Buick was slightly damaged, but the owner continued using his car until it was considered "old" and was stored in a garage.  The car went to the heirs of the solicitor, and it were the grandsons who sold the car to the present owners, who are going to restore it.

In the colour photos you can see the car the day it was pulled out from its old garage. A lucky car, isn´t it? (text Francisco Carríon)

A wonderful car with lots of dignity. Really worth to be in good hands, and a wonderful story, too. I'm sure that the owners know to enjoy their marvellous machine.
