Beaulieu Find. (UPDATE: double gearing)

The autojumble last weekend. Going down the alleys to get good Austin Seven stuff, Gerrit Jansen stumbled over this fresh French import, from Département 74 ( is that = Haute Savoie (Fr.)?). Due to language difficulties Gerrit did not find out a lot about this nice OHV. Based on the Aries plate on the side of the engine we think this is one of the post 1922 Sport chassis (Georgano). The design is a bit similar to the OHV Salmson engine. Who can learn us a bit more about it? [email protected] (photos courtesy Austin7.nl)
Mathieu Gras found a 1926 Aries C2 with at least a similar radiator and gear-shift at RAR / Christian Descombas
UPDATE by Josef Kubišta(CS):"...the motor is rather OHC (over head camshaft; driven by vertical shaft) than an OHV (Over Head Valve - valves controlled from camshaft by pushrods, camshaft is usually in crankcase), I think the same applies for Salmson engines."
UPDATE by Frans van Stee - owner of an Aries - adds that the car has an interesting extra gearing on the shaftdrive resulting in a doubling of the available three gears. (edit.: must be perfect for trials ! check the twin shift stick at the RAR photos)
