We decided to show the detail first. Otherwise you maybe would not believe that the Mercedes Benz 540 K Roadster that won class awards and the award Best Preserved at Concours Het Loo (NL) in fact is an unrestored car. Based on full view photos it is almost impossible to see. Check rear view and front view. In the eyes of a modern used car dealer the car must look scruffy, near to being a scrapper. In the perspective of history and collectors the car is solid gold. The Teutonic 2,6 ton Roadster has lots of dents, corroded corners, far from perfect chrome. Despite all that, the overall impression is that of a well maintained car with an interesting history which started at the in The Hague located Dutch importer of that time.
