Artist Roger Bowers is one of our most loyal friends and visitors who always has an open eye for the unusual. Last week or a bit earlier he sent us his most recent find: the 'official' PreWarCar movie poster... The resemblance with our logo is more than remarkable. But we must confess at this point that our logo was inspired by an early Salmson advert showing a driver with a dangerously long scarf. An attribute that became less popular after the death of Isadora Duncan who was strangled with her own scarf by the left rearwheel of the Amilcar in which she sat (the tragic death of Los Angeles born Mrs. Duncan and the movie 'California or Bust' were in the same year 1927). No further explanation needed to understand that we would love to find an original example of this movie poster for our Amsterdam offices. Please let us know if you have an original one left over... A reprint and the movie on VHS both are available, we found. [email protected]
