I wonder if anyone can identify what vehicle this tachometer is from.
The shape of the dial, like the bottom half of a torus or doughnut, is identical to that used on MG TD and Triumph TR2/3/4 tachometers. With different markings on the dial of course. Therefore this British Jaeger tachometer was probably made in the 1950s or 1960s.
The rpm range is typical of diesel engines used on lorries (trucks) and buses. Engines that do more than 1000 rpm are classed as high-speed engines.
There are a number of engines from this period and beyond that might fit. For example a Gardner 6LW with 102 hp at 1700 rpm.
