Car 431, where are you?

'I am moving house soon and found this picture when clearing out the loft. It is a picture that I thought was lost and shows my first car a 1932 Austin 7 model RN. The picture was taken in September 1955 just after I had started driving. I had bought the car when I was only sixteen years old and had to wait an agonising few weeks before I could take the wheel (everybody was very law abiding in those days). The L plate on the front is a UK requirement for learner drives and is required until one has passed the driving test, also one must be accompanied by a qualified driver whilst learning. It proved to be a reliable car even though it was 28 years when I bought it. The survival rate at that time was very good and spares were easy to obtain. I did many long journeys in her and it proved usefull for taken girls out to quiet places in the countryside'. (photo & recollectiosn John Barringer) Any information on MJ 431, either from fifties girls or later owners is being welcomed at [email protected].
