Any HRG is a very rare car with the overall production figure probably not exceeding 60 units... Michael Strauss owns (and now is selling) an even more rare example: the 1939 HRG protype Aerodynamic, registered KPB 935. With the car this photo came showing his or... another Aerodynamic. Michael writes: "HRG wanted to build a modern car in modern style, so they started with the projekt Aerodynamic. It was a 1939 chassis with an 1500 cc ohc engine.
In the next 5 jears the bodywork changed in many details to the correct design.
The produktion of the cars begain in 1946. 30 Cars were build + the protoype
KPB935. The Aeros were used for many conpetions like Spa 24H, Alpin Rally,
Le Mans, RAC-Rally and many Production races." The question is : can aynone identify the location, the event, the year, the car (which exact HRG) and/or the driver? Please take a closer look at the Alpine landscape (clic). Maybe you can recognise the partly snowed mountains. And then zoom in at the Aerodynamic # 67 (clic). Take note of the driver wearing a white cap. Characterisitic for who? Please send your observations to:

UPDATE son(!) Peter Mitchell: " HRG JGJ 760 Chassis W103. The X1e Rallye International des Alps July 1948.
The driver is Douglas Mitchell and co-driver Nancy Mitchell. HRGs were very succesful in the Alpine of that year and the Mitchell's car was part of the team of three that took the Foreign Team Award. The picture was taken of the car climbing the St. Gotthard Pass on the third day of the rally. Douglas always wore a white cap on sunny hot days primarily for protection of his balding head.
It is believed that the car was broken up circa 1961.
Nancy Mitchell later became a very successful rally driver, winning the Ladies European Championship in 1956 and 1957."
