A hidden cask of wine

Our frequent reporting Karel Vermeer writes: "While travelling in the Provence two weeks ago, we visited a chateau du vin to buy a few bottles. Outside we saw the remains of a Fiat Topolino or Simca cinq. And while inspecting this 'project' a very nice young lady asked me if I was interested in old cars, which I am. Then she took me to the back of the shop and we entered the garage. Well, it was amazing... About 20 pre-war cars all in very good condition, Bayard, Daimler, Talbot, Delaunay-Belleville, Amilcar, Ballot, Citroën half track and so on, and so on."

Editor: So when travelling France, be sure to take frequent stops to check the wine...

Its very hard to find something like that in Australia. Although one day on got onto a property and saw a very good collection of cars, :- A model Duesenberg, Issotta Frachini, Pierce Arrow, Auburn, Locomobile, Mercer, Stutz, Cadillac, Lancia, and one that I will never forget a Roamer sitting on blocks in a specially built room. The number plate was 30000. There was more cars. Its amazing what is still around.

Reply to Mr. Ferrand
If I see correctly has three of the cars on the Chateau du Berne previously been part of the collection at Ålholm castle In Denmark. Among them the Delaunay Belleville but the Coachwork is not a genuine Labourdette Skiff body but a replica.

In fact, I am beginning to think that Stratford on Avon is an example of English romanticism, even naming things to seem old as this map from 1759, published in 1885 suggests, where it was clearly Stratford on Avon.

Very nice set up, as clean as any gastronomic establishment should be. Output, in terms of the vehicles is clinical. Now to "hang" around these vehicles with nice wine and finger food would be Nirvana.
