Chickasha !

For those who have never been here. Chickasha is a kind of well known swap market where 'everybody' is going. It is in the topographical middle of the US, "where East meets West". So, except for the people who live there it's a massive ride for about anyone else. Thomas Edfors went there two weeks back and was kind enough to send his impressions and photos:
"Driving all night is not something I usually recommend but with the distances here in America, and the event is at Chickasha, Oklahoma, there is some justification for doing so. Chickasha is the site of the National Pre-War Swap Meet and when my friend Dave Hentschel said “Let’s go”, we loaded up and we did indeed drive straight through the night. What sets this swap meet apart is that the focus is on pre-war cars and parts and this is enforced. No plastic here. Rows of vendors are present with vendor spaces both indoors and out, offering all one would want in pre-war parts. Brass was everywhere! I found just the right rear view mirror needed for my 1909 Regal. Parts were easy to see with vendors spread out so there was little or no problem with crowding."
Chickasha is one of those few places where you can find some real old stuff brought together. The main photo is showing a 1923 Cadillac in need of some loving care. Also outside this 'easy project', a little Chevrolet Coupe . Inside Thomas found this wonderfully original 1911 Elmore.
