Longstone Long Car Race

This weekend, the second edition of the Longstone Car Race will be held. Last year's Longstone Light Car Race was a great success. The RAC awarded Longstone and the VSCC with ‘the Best Event Ever in the World’.

We were impressed by how many people got their racing license because Longstone Tyres was willing to pull out their wallet and pay for the starting grid and offer them champagne after the race. That inspiration led to the invention of the Longstone Long Car Race, an invitation to vintage cars with either too much or too little power to come and race around Donnington at high speed, grimacing and leaning dramatically in the manner of the true vintage racer.

The first three fastest cars will be disqualified. The 4th, 5th and 6th places are rewarded with a half-open Magnum Longstone Champagne.

This year there is a competition for the tallest car and the longest car. They too will be rewarded with a half open Magnum Longstone Champagne.

The event takes place during the VSCC Donnington Park weekend on 5 June.
