"This project has been in creation for almost two decades. Published bibliographies of the output of any motor car manufacturer are rare, and this is especially the case in the veteran world, where published material is scattered across a broad range of journals, many of which are scarce or difficult to find. Few bibliographies can claim to be exhaustive and definitive, but I feel confident that this particular volume, a first attempt at a bibliography of the De Dion Bouton company, is a comprehensive treatment of the motor tricycles, passenger cars and commercial vehicles that left the factory over the forty years of production” is what Michael said it would be.

More than 2,000 known publications and articles from English, French and German sources are included and presented in chronological order. For individual car owners or enthusiasts wishing to research a particular type of vehicle, there are charts of each year`s output, divided into different sections for passenger and commercial vehicles, with a listing of technical specifications. This comes with over 200 illustrations in colour and black and white of the vehicles, many of which have not been published previously, along with extracts taken from the company’s catalogues.

This volume is of identical specification to the previous 'De Dion Bouton Type and Specification series' and 'The Tricycle Books'.
