Elegance and Flamboyance captured in a photo

The capturing of elegance in a photo. A stunning lady together with a car with beautiful lines. Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think we can all agree that we would all love to see this combination on the grass at many Concours d’ Elegances, when it is possible once again.

The lady is a mystery to us, and we would like to keep it this way. The car, however, is something we can give more details about. We see a spectacular Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport with a flamboyant body by Figoni et Falaschi. The short-chassis Talbot Lago was delivered in 1948 and a year later shown at the Paris Salon of 1949 by its coachbuilder. Yes, it is a post-war car but we still wanted to share it with you. It went through several hands before being in an accident in the 1960s. After many years unseen, the car came in the hands of an enthusiastic Czech collector who made a fantastic job of restoring the car to its original condition.

As far as we know, this is the only T26 Grand Sport by this coachbuilder, so we are happy that they did save the car and displayed it at several concourses. We hope to see the car, and the lady, in the flesh someday!
