Fancy a Voisin?

If so, make sure you visit Bonhams & Butterfields next auction. There’s a whole series of every model that Gabriel Voisin ever created, including a coupe and cabriolet that are the only ones in the world. The sale also includes the 1936 C28 pictured above. It’s a drivable mock-up that was made for the 2005 movie “Sahara” starring Penélope Cruz. It’s not a faithful replica though, as the roof was removed to have a better light on the actress. All these Avions-Voisins will be on offer on August 15 at the Quail Lodge in Carmel, California. But on the off-chance you don’t fancy a Voisin, but do like something to cross the Sahara with, perhaps Lot 331 will be the one for you. (photos courtesy Bonhams & Butterfields).
