The fifteenth edition of the 2009 Glenmoor Gathering at Canton, Ohio promises to be an outstanding event. Main attraction will of course be the Concours d’Elegance on Sunday September 20, but there’s much more to enjoy, for instance a Countryside Tour for the Concours exhibitors on Saturday. This year’s Concours will be in honor of Edsel Ford, who created some of the most beautiful automobiles of the 1920’s and ‘30’s. Edsel’s biographer, Henry Dominguez, will be attending the Glenmoor Gathering as a special guest. But it’s not all Ford. Emily Anderson will be there with her 1909 Maxwell, to pay tribute to Alice Ramsey, the first woman to drive an automobile across the United States. Another feature will be the legendary “French Front”, a distinctive, swooping front end most often associated with Renault, but featured on a variety of other makes, European and American. More than 200 automobiles will be on display and artists will exhibit their automotive artwork throughout the weekend. Sure enough a formula for a great weekend! (photos courtesy Glenmoor Gathering)
