A friend of reader Rick Ford is a 83 year old chap. According to Rick he started his post WW2 career in the motor trade rebuilding Riley cars from two 'lock-up' garages in London. Later he became Work shop Director of the largest Rolls Royce/Ferrari/Aston Martin dealer in London. In the 1950s he built this Riley Special from a Monaco. The Kestrel in the background was his father's. He sold this to a local girl who later became his wife of 50 happy years. All this leads to his collection of badges, and of which he would like to know more. We are not sure but we think that number one speaks for itself; number two could be German or Austrian; number three of course is form the Touring Club de France; number four comes from Czechoslovakia and number five is Danish. What more can you tell us about these badges? Are they rare? Mail us! (photos Rick Ford)
Update II by Uffe Mortensen: “Badge no 5 is indeed from the Danish FDM 1909-2009.
Update I by Holger Ungerer: "Badge N°2 is neither German nor Austrian - it´s an Italian RACI badge from 1933-46." Thomas Billicsich: "Royal Italian Automobil Club." San Giorgi: "RACI = Reale Automobile Club Italia. Below is the membership number."
