Another kind of Aero Special

Reinhold Moser from Germany visited the private airport and museum of Lord Shuttleworth (Reinhold inadvertedly makes the interesting typo 'Shuttleford'). At the airport which is part of the museum's premises he stumbled upon this very intriguing Model T Ford which is in use to start vintage aeroplanes. The car seems to be in very original condition. Now if you travel to the UK this summer a visit to this living museum is an absolute must. Even if you don't like areoplanes. They have a most interesting and large collection of cars as well. Rest assured that the aero starting T is not the wildest beast what they have on board!

The Argentine Air Force has in its museum a car wich had the same aircraft sarter machanism, though facing backwards. The car is a Anasagasti, locally built in Argentina 1912. As I said the car is there but the aircraft starter is gone, shame really.

I think there is some confusion here. Old Warden Aerodrome in Bedfordshire is owned nd run by the Shuttleworth Trust. The collection was founded in 1928 by aviator Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth, only son of a wealthy industrialist. While flying a Fairey Battle at night on 2 August 1940, Shuttleworth fatally crashed. His mother, in 1944, formed the Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth Remembrance Trust "for the teaching of the science and practice of aviation and of afforestation and agriculture."

They are nothing to do with Lord Shuttleworth whose seat is in Lancashire

That conversion of a Model T Ford is a Hucks Starter which was in widespread use during the Great War. It was named after its inventor, Bentfield Hucks, who was a captain in the Royal Flying Corps.
I think the Shuttleworth one is a post-period conversion as no original examples survive
