Friday Ladies in Le Mont-Saint-Michel

Mr Philippe Guedon took this picture on a beautiful sunny day. It is probably taken before WW1 at Mont-Saint-Michel, in Normandy. The beautiful island is located 0.6 miles of mainland France and only accessible at low tide. Both Le Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay are on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. From experience, we can tell you it is definitely worth visiting this impressive and historically important tidal island with its beautiful abbey.

The location also explains the wind and the people holding their headwear to prevent them from blowing away. But who are these ladies? And what is their relation to each other? Are they “tourists” visiting the rocky island, just as millions of others do nowadays?

In the background, we see various PreWarCars. Most of them look like taxis. The car on the left has something hanging over its wheels. Any idea what it can be or if it has a purpose? We would love to find out more about the picture, the ladies and the PreWarCars.

Hello Daniel,

In the background, seat and backrest drying in the wind. These tourists were sick after tasting the "Mère POULARD" omelet !
