Going out on Drive-it Day (Upd. John Steed used to drive one)

On April 23 in the year 1900, 64 cars set off from London on the first day of the Thousand Mile Trial, an incredible undertaking. To commemorate this effort each year in the UK normally the Sunday closest to April 23rd is chosen as “Drive-it-Day”. This year it’s different though, as the Sunday closest to April 23 is Easter Sunday, so the event has been brought back to April 17th! Organised by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, the day encourages owners to take their classic out on the road, demonstrating their enthusiasm and showing just how many classics are still around today. It doesn’t matter where you go or where you drive, but if we may make a suggestion, why not visit The Vauxhall Heritage Centre where you will have the opportunity to view the Vauxhall collection of over 50 cars ranging from the 1900’s through to the present day. Parking and Entry is free. The Centre can be found in Park Street, Luton, behind the main Griffin House headquarters in Osborne Road. But wherever you go, we wish you a great day without any break-downs!

John Steed? I thought he always had to settle for second-best and only drove a Bentley... or was that his mate JB?

Hi Grant, he drove a 30/98 as well.

Recently I saw a old episode of 'The Avengers' and instead of Steed driving his faithful 3 Liter Bentley he drove a dazzling 30/98 and I was amazed how nice this car looked back in 1966 with next to Steed ofcourse the always lovely Miss Peel.
