Help a lost young lady to the Black Friday Sale

We were a little bit in doubt. Because is this Friday Lady driving a pre-war or a post-war car? The sources told us the photograph is taken around 1942, so right on the edge.

We see the Provincial Police helping a lost motorist. Hopefully, this friendly gentleman is able to show this young lady where to go.

But to go back to our first question. What do you think, looking at the shape of the roof? Did we feature this Friday Lady photograph on the right website? Or do you think it should be published on PostWarClassic.com?

Please comment below and tell us what car you think we see here.

It's a 1937-39 coupe from one of the Chrysler Corporation makes. The door hinge detail is the qualifying characteristic. From 1940, the hinges were hidden.

The car is definitely pre-war. And it's American. Give away clue is the roof-hinged windshield wiper, just visible at the far left. The shape of the roof and door looks a lot like a coupé body as delivered by Briggs to Chrysler corporation. The windshield surrounding is chromed, so it isn't the low-end Plymouth. Neither is it a Chrysler or Imperial; in that case the door vent surrounding would be chromed also. So my best guess is either a Dodge or Desoto (the medium makes of the Chrysler group), circa 1937-1938 (mid-year 1938 the wipers went fixed below). Just google images '1937 Dodge coupe' or '1937 Desoto coupe' to see if I'm right.

Deluxe Plymouths had both chrome windshield surround and vent windows. Business models had neither.
