This crate is a remaining building stone of a succesfull meat export company in Holland. The grandfather of Stijnus Schotte had a slaughterhouse and export company. The meat was dry stored and tansported hanging in these open crates, most probably to Germany. Click the photo to see one of the trucks(know what it is?).
Click on the next link and you'll find the full company fleet. The car on the left seems average at first sight. Untill you see the whole picture(click). It's not a Mercedes, not an Austro Daimler. This rakish sports tourer (by Karmann?) is a Dürkopp. We wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the fast 2 litre 8 cylinders built around 1918-1920 (do you agree?). Stijnus would love to learn more about this car and if possible try to find one. Can you help? Contact Us
UPDATE both by Thomas Billicsich from Austria and Mark Dawber(NZ), who both claim the car has a bonnet much too short for the eight cylinder. Any other Dürkopp experts around...?
