Identification request: an antique car trunk?
Dear PreWarCar.com,
It has been recommended that I write to you, and hopefully solve my mistery.
I have been restoring my old "toy box," and I would love to know more about it. My late father told me it was an old car trunk, which makes sense as it has a number plate painted on it.
I've tried in vain looking for something similar on the internet, to no avail—not even close. So I'm starting to have my doubts, though my professor says that the bolts and nuts are handmade, so it's definitely antique.
I would love to hear some opinions!

Glamorgan Record Office do hold the records for the KG series of numbers. For a small fee they should be able to search the records and give details of the vehicle the box was fitted to. KG was first allocated in August, 1931. By January, 1934, it had reached KG 3376.

It certainly looks a nicely made trunk for the back of a car. Under the car registration act of 1903 the letters KG were allocated to Cardiff. You may wish to contact Cardiff Council Archives to see if their records exist of when, to whom and to what car the registration was assigned to. Good luck.
