Identify my uncle's car in this photo

“Hi, I'm trying to identify my uncle's car in this photo. I have absolutely no other info other than this picture. The grille badge appears to look like a shamrock or cloverleaf (it’s not an Alfa) and the radiator adornment looks like Mercury, but I suspect that is just an aftermarket fashion statement of the day rather than the manufacturer's logo. My uncle lived in Wales then Coventry, near the Alvis factory, but I'm pretty sure this isn't an Alvis. It could even be a US car, he was a bit of a car nut. Any thoughts gratefully received.”

Recently we received this message from Bob. Can anyone help out and tell Bob more about his uncle's car?

I'd go with Swift too - early 1920s - possibly 10hp but looks too big - so more likely the 12hp model I feel.

I've looked carefully at photograph and the car does not appear to have front wheel brakes (although the photo is not clear). If so I would put the date as no later than early 1925 as Swift cars exhibited at The Motor Exhibition at Olympia in October 1925 were equipped with four wheel brakes.

Could it be a Belsize - not sure about the mascot or badge but the inner shape of the radiator surround looks characteristic, and the artiliary wheels.
