If dreams come true
I'll be with you
I love that smile in your eyes
You see a dream in the skies
In your caress there is happiness
And love in view
If dreams come true...
Can you remember the melody and the wonderful trumpet music? It is a jazz song by Teddy Wilson and Billie Holiday.
For many prewar car enthusiasts, an Alfa Romeo 6C or 8C is a car they can only dream of. But! For some people, the dream comes true. This dream became reality for the lady and gentlemen in the photograph. They are the lucky ones, to own such an amazing car! We received these two photographs with the caption; "this Alfa Romeo was owned by the family in the 1930`s." With the question; "if anyone has any information about whereabouts the car is."
If anyone can tell us more about this specific Alfa Romeo that would be very grateful!

Must admit bit of a shock to see reg no. I remember so well whilst the rest of the car is obviously completely new and nothing like it was born and loved and driven several times from England to Italy.
Seems that the car’s history must now apply to the chassis, engine etc. and certainly not to the body. No way would you race with that surely.
I can still lay my hands on photo of Ramponi sitting in the car with Sammy Davis in close attention. I was honoured to “commission” SCHD for oil painting the of car racing through Comber village. And I still have the plaque for the radiator from the 1000 Miglia, not the present event but the first of the runs over the old course which was four-day Alfa publicity rally for the then new modern 1750. Seems there is a new wire grill for the rad, the previous one made by me when at sea in an aircraft carrier. The car, of course, had to stay at home for a while. As I said, I knew the car rather well.
