Imogen meets Imogen

When we found our Amilcar back in 1999, in Texas of all places, we learned from the accompanying letters the car had the intriguing 'surname' Imogen. We did a lot of research trying to figure out at what time and under what circumstances this name became attached to the car. Result: nothing.

That is, until the end of April this year. Thirteen years after publishing a few lines about my car, there was a response from Canada! It came from the daughter of Rozanne Moizer who raced  the CGSs - then better known as YW77 - at Brooklands(?) and Silverstone in the late '50s. It appeared that Rozanne named the Amilcar after her daughter Imogen. Two weeks ago, Imogen visited the PreWarCar headquarters to meet the car that once belonged to her mother and bears her name.

Of course we took Imogen and Imogen for a run and we thanked the weather gods for giving us some brilliant autumn sun for the occasion. Imogen handed over a treasure trove of documents which still remained with her mother. They ranged from a query about the founding of the British Amilcar Club in 1955 by John Lisle to the actual, possibly ex-RAF, goggles used by Rozanne when racing Silverstone, and 1000 items in between.
