Italian pleasures in Holland.

Last weekend we attended the Dutch car and bike show Auto Moto Italia. Typical autumn weather brought massive crowds to view lots of "modern" stuff of the fifties, sixties and seventies. But the organisers had decided to give some emphasis on cars that the average visitor rarely ever will see. The central stand was fully dedicated to the pre 1940 Italian car. Under the very present voice of Enrico Caruso we did enjoy the presence of a partly restored 1911 Bianchi with a refined radiator badge as shown on the photo. A second car was the Fiat 520 that was earlier this year on show at Villa d'Este. Next a well campaigned Lancia Lambda. Much admiration was drawn by a 1937 Lancia Augusta which despite the poor weather came through darkness and rains on its own wheels! (well done Aad Hop!). And last a very imposing 1909 Fiat Tipo III that was earlier used to transport Prince Willem Alexander and his charming spouse Maxima (click). For those who are afraid that these real old oldies do not attract girls and or youngsters the last photo taken this Sunday must be a final proof of the contrary....
