Josef Ganz`s Volkswagen. A when and where mystery?
Ivan Barantsev spotted this photo in a recent auction. It was described as a Fiat Topolino. Probably that`s why the maximal bid remained very low, while in fact it is a very unusual photo of the very rare Volkswagen ''Superior", but not the usually 'Kaefer'. See also Ganz Volkswagen and Josef Ganz. Anybody of you who can date and name the location of this photo more or less precise?

Standard was its own make of car. I believe that in the advertisement shown here "Volkswagen" is being used literally as "people's car," rather than as a brand name. What we think of as a Volkswagen was called a KDF-Wagen in 1935.
