A crowd of proper cars at VSCC's New Year.

There is always a goodly crowd, of people and proper motor cars, at the annual VSCC New Years Day meeting at The Royal Oak in Much Marcle, Herefordshire (UK). This year was no exception, in fact it was quite exceptional with something over 180 pre-war cars gathered, with their owners, passengers and many spectators whose modern motor cars lined the road approaching the pub for at least a mile! The fact that the weather stayed dry, and for the time of year relatively warm probably helped this record turn out, but nevertheless it was indeed a superb gathering that overflowed the large car park and out onto the paddock at the rear. A similar meeting was held for the first time at Hitone Restorations on the Banbury Road at Hpocroft's Holt North of Oxford for members and anyone with a proper car on New Years Day. A good turn-out of Bugattis , Alvis, Triumphs an M.G.s, Bentleys, Vauxhalls etc.and an excellent spread of the usual festive drinks and nibbles was put on by the proprietors. This should become an annual event for those in Oxfordshire and surroundings.
