That’s what we thought when this lady landed in our mailbox. Do you recognize her? No? Her name is Sonja Henie and she couldn’t have arrived at a better time, just to tell us about Ladies Figure Skating at the Olympic Winter Games. And Sonja knows about skating because she was a competitor for Norway in 1928, in 1932 and in 1936. Apart from that she was also ranked Norway's third best tennis player. After her skating career Sonja Henie (mnc.net) went on to become a movie star, starring in several popular Hollywood movies. Oh, by the way, her car is a Cord. UPDATE by Kim Koffman:"She was a child athlete in 1924. Sonja Henie also skated in the 1924 Olympics. She won gold in 1928, 1932 & 1936. It is believed that she owned two Cords."
Update II by Rutger Booy: Kim is correct about Sonja owning two Cords. She also had a L-29 and we found this picture of her on the front cover (click) of a Norwegian magazine.
Update III: Kjetil Langsaether reports that Sonja's L-29 Cord still exists in Norway.
Update IV: Johan Lovén informs us that the magazine featuring Sonia adorning her L29 was Swedish, not Norwegian. Veckojournalen was published between 1910-1963, featuring articles by many of the influential Swedish writers, journalists and intellectuals of the day.
