Like Father, Like Son

Transport Collector Auctions regularly organize a sale of Motoring Transport, Cycling & Cycling Memorabilia. At their next auction they will be offering several lots from the archive of Adams & Adams of New Maldon, who were the appointed transporters of the Bluebird boats and cars for both Malcolm and Donald Campbell. Under the heading ‘The Campbell Collection’ are several sets of unique photographs. Take for instance like this delightful one of father and son with the Campbell-Railton Bluebird, at Daytona on 9th January 1933, just prior to gaining the LSR of 272mph in February. A very interesting offer if you are a serious Campbell-collector. TCA’s sale will take place on October 22nd.
By the way, 100 years ago this year, Sir Malcolm Campbell first named a car Bluebird, at Brooklands in 1911. To mark the celebration GTO London is creating a range of strictly limited-edition gents’ accessories, see their press release.
