A concours going Mystery? (update 1930 Isotta Fraschini 8ASS Weymann Faux Cabriolet by Touring?)

Don´t you think she´s lovely as a picture? We do and if you agree, click the main pic and you´ll see that she´s worth to be framed. We do know that the girl sits in a magnificent Isotta Fraschini, but we´re not too sure about the model (8A DHC by Castagna perhaps?). Can you help us? We wouldn't be surprised if the car is still around. Anyway, the older lady on the porch seems to have her doubts about all the commotion in front of her.

I look at the identification of the IF in this way.
The type of body I think is Faux-Cabriolet by Weymann, but I do not think it is made by Weymann in Hauge, Netherlands because it has an Italian look.
The Italian style and rounding between the running board and rear fender, makes me think that it may be made by Touring of Milan.
The year I think, because of some of the details and the lower body style is 1930
It looks to be a short chassis.
If it is a Tipo 8ASS or not can not be known without seeing the engine.
Just because it has short chassis and sports body does not mean that it is a Tipo 8ASS, it can be both Tipo 8A and Tipo 8AS engine in a 1930 IF. Among several examples of it, include chassis 1462 one short chassis roadster of 1930 with 8A engine.
Strange at such a late roadster.
But hopefully this was a 8ASS when you think about how much better 8ASS engine was.
I have a memory of and is almost certain, some years ago have seen a black/white photograph of the same model as this but with dark top.
Then it should have been two made of this model, intresting.

My guess/conclusion is that this car is:
1930 (most likely Tipo 8ASS) a sports body on short chassis with Faux-Cabriolet Weymann body type made by Touring of Milan

Exact identification is tricky. This body does have the look of Castagna, whilst the low build and swept wing line suggests 1930- 31. Theoretically a car of this date would be an 8B, which first appeared in 1929. The 8B was introduced to appeal to the US market and produced up to 160bhp- a considerable increase on the original 115bhp, although this entailed some loss of refinement. However the earlier 8ASS- a more powerful, 140bhp version of the 8A, was also still available well into the 1930's since sales of all cars were so low the company spent most of this period trying to sell off old chassis stock at reduced prices. In 1932 total sales were just four 8A's and eight 8B's! 100 cars- about evenly split between the two model types- were still unsold at the end of that year. In Britain by 1934 Hoopers were building 'new' cars with Wilson pre selector gearboxes- available for £1,600, which was £1,000 less than a Rolls Royce Phantom 2.

My guess for the car illustrated is an 8ASS, since that was a sporting model- as this example appears to be- built on a 'short'(!) 134in wheelbase. From the proportions of the photograph if the wheelbase is as long as 146 inches it would have to be more than 6ft high, which with that 'postage slot' style windshield seems unlikely.
