UPDATE by Andy Chrisanfov: "It's the first time around that I see this photo in colour - apparently someone had painted it back then. I'm afraid you have four Fords on that pic, the bloke in a brown suit being none other than Edsel Bryant Ford, the company president and the only son of Henry the Ist (and, of course, father to Hank Deuce). I recall seeing another photo from the same session where he was shown en face - and that was definitely him, although in b&w. The pic referred to is either in the recent Ford Chronicle or in Automotive Industries "Seventy-five years of Ford" special issue." Thank you Andy for correcting our blunder. We made the mistake because we learned Frank drove that car coast ot coast. That doesn't mean of course that he is in this photo... we learn every day!
A more than famous photo showing no less than three Fords. Henry himself. Then the first motorcar he ever built. And the ten millionth motorcar he built. That was in in June 1924. The car was driven coast to coast with a letter from the NY mayor for the LA Mayor. So all celebrities were present. But who's the other guy in the brown suit? Another Ford, another Henry? Who drove the six zero Model T down Lincoln Highway all that way? Yes, Frank did. He is looking at the car and into it, maybe thinking: should I drive all that in this? Wrong, Frank knew the Model T maybe better than Henry himself. He did a lot more than taking the long and winding road from NY to LA. He did about everything nobody did with a Model T.
