The Great Race of 1908 was an epic event in which several race cars participated in a race from New York to Paris. Only four cars made it across America and over to Vladivostock. Frame 30 Productions is currently producing a film on this race, called The Greatest Auto Race on Earth. It will be an historical docu drama and the story will be told through the eyes of the racers. Part of the making of the film involves building working replicas of the cars, because the story will incorporate filmed footage of the Protos, the Flyer and the Züst, recently discovered in an old shed out in Western Canada. The Motobloc will also star in the film, but that car will not be a full up and running model as it did not make it across the Pacific. We at PreWarCar are proud that several of our readers were able to help fill in a lot of details (click!) about the cars, to make them as faithful working replica’s as possible.
