We know our readers like to get their teeth sunk into a puzzle, so what better way is there to kick-start the new year than with a mystery car to identify? We've had a rummage through the archives and turned up this picture of a car which is, as yet, unknown to us. It's rather a faded picture and not all that well-defined, but we're sure somebody out will there will be able to name it in an instant.
It's British-registered (Portsmouth), but that is no guarantee of British manufacture, and the two-seater bodywork looks to be of reasonably high-quality. Based on the radiator and other such small details as we can make out, we're going to have a stab in the dark and say that it's a 7hp Swift of c.1910... but we could be completely wrong.
Have you any ideas yourself? Please do let us know and then we'll file this away under 'mystery solved'.
